"N" has lost his first tooth (he actually has 5 missing now, but this is the first tooth to come out naturally). Here's what happened...The tooth became loose on Wednesday. He was so excited to wiggle it and had so many questions: Would it bleed? What if it fell out at school? When would he lose more? Boy, did that bring back memories. When I had a loose tooth as a child, I would stand in front of the mirror and wiggle it for hours until it came out. One time, I guess my mom was fed up because she asked to see just how wiggly it was. When I opened my mouth, she popped it out before I knew what happened. Well, I vowed not to do that to my children (love you, Mom) so the tooth didn't come out until Friday night at dinner. We were eating chicken enchiladas and watermelon when "N" said that he had swallowed a watermelon seed, but the watermelon was seedless. He swallowed his tooth! It was a little scary for the poor guy. He was afraid that the tooth would hurt him or that he would choke. After we reassured him that everything was okay and told him that swallowed teeth earn double the money he felt better. If you're wondering why he doesn't have the top teeth, it's because they had to be pulled so that his permanent teeth would come in straight.
This morning, "N" found $2.oo under his pillow. Now the money's just burning a hole in his pocket. Target, here we come.
When "K" saw that "N" had gotten money, she ran from the room. I'm guessing she went to check her pillow. But after finding the pillow empty, she went to her play cash register, got some play money and ran back to our room shouting "look what the tooth fairy brought for me". Darling!
