Spring Break at the Phoenix Zoo

That's Katie, Nathan and I on a camel. It was fun, but a little scary. It felt like the camel was going to trip and at one point, we came way too close to a cactus. Still, I'd recommend doing it at least once.

Katie and cousins Anna and Ben

My favorite--they stand so still they look like they're made of stone

Grandma Thomas with the kids

Home again. I think this picture speaks for itself.

I didn't know they had camel riding there... Hope it wasn't too warm for y'all! It's kinda crazy to see pics like these when we're still so chilly up here--we just got another couple of inches dumped on us Sat. night...spring, where are you??? :) We really need the moisture, so it's OK...... It's amazing how 'grown-up' Nate & Katie & boys look!

Yea, there are camel rides, but they cost $5 a person. Grandpa was very generous and paid for the kids to go. I filled in for one of the kids who got scared last minute. They also have a stingray exhibit where you can pet the rays for $3.

I am 25 and still have never riden the camel at the zoo! I hope to do it one day, just to say I did it! Looks like it was fun!

My kids ask every time if they can ride the camel...I am a mean mom and we haven't done it yet. The zoo is a great way to get your kids to sleep and the mom too...all those hills, a double stroller, four children...I am lucky we make it home awake.
