Julia and Thomas' birthday

38 weeks, 1 day: Morning of induction
The induction took all day. It was smooth sailing if you don't count my huge fear of the epidural. Fortunately, the doctor was the chief anesthesiologist, so I felt much better about the whole thing. Although, my blood pressure did drop after the epidural (as it did last time; hence my fear of the epidural). However, the doctors and nurses took great care of me and I was soon on my way to a pain free labor and delivery.
My handsome and wonderful husband, Rex, prepped and ready for delivery. No, he didn't deliver the babies. Twin births must be in the operating room just in case there are any complications.
I'm so blessed to be married to Rex. For many months during the end of my pregnancy and now more than a month after the twins' birth, he has cooked, cleaned and cared for our home and children while I care for the babies. Our family would have fallen to pieces without him.

In the OR, waiting for my doctor.
Julia Constance was born first at 4:16pm. She weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. She cried for about 5 seconds. We were worried that she wasn't breathing, but she was fine--just very calm.
Thomas Clinton was born next at 4:26pm. He weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. Now, he cried! He was clean as a whistle, though.
Boy, were we ever relieved! Two healthy new babies and no C-section.
Katie holding her new brother and her only sister. Katie is very good at holding the babies, though it's hard for her to hear them cry. She is willing to always help when asked. She is so talented at inventing games to play with her brothers.
Carter has proven to be a GREAT helper. He is always ready with a pacifier if the babies are crying. He is very gentle when holding them.
Spencer is a big helper too. He loves to pick the babies up "by hisself" and say, "Hi, little guy". And he always has lots of hugs and kisses for the babies.
I'm so grateful for Nathan's help. He holds the babies, sometimes both at the same time, when they are crying. He makes meals when I'm helping the babies. He plays with his brothers and sister when they are bored. He happily (most of the time) does anything we ask him too. What a great big brother.
We are so proud of all our children!
